"My experience is that a well-crafted original painting that you really love and choose for yourself just keeps on giving back, as long as you own it; and even after it's passed on to someone else."

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the paintings permanent?
All my paintings that you find in private and corporate collections are original work. My acrylic work is painted on double-primed stretched canvas using only professional grade acrylic paints. The pigments are chosen for their optimum light fastness. Each painting receives an acrylic barrier for extra long-lasting UV protection.
How much do the paintings cost?
The price in Canadian dollars is indicated in the caption at the bottom when you click on an image.
Are there extra costs?
There is no added tax. Delivery service beyond the Ottawa area may have an added cost. Requests for special framing could incur extra expense. Please see 'Can I change the frame?' below.
Return policy?
Yes. My policy is that within 14 days of purchase, any work may be returned with a full refund or exchange- no questions asked.
Method of Payment?
Personal check, bank transfer and acceptable terms.
Where can I view the work?
Ask to see my work at any of the listed galleries on my HOME page and at my studio by appointment only.
Can I change the frame?
My paintings come with  a simple floating black frame that is very popular. If you prefer something else, I would be pleased to deduct $100 - $200, depending on the size of the painting, from the price and can recommend several professional framers.
For the smaller works  (16x20 and smaller), my paintings are framed in an attractive  3" gold wood frame.

Where can I go to have a painting repaired?
I have a number of contacts that I have personally used and recommend. If it's something involving my work, I may be able to help.
How do I identify a C.Spratt original?
Look on the back of the painting and find the catalogue number. (e.g. #219XXX) and contact me. I am happy to give you more information concerning the work. I have received inquiries from clients that have owned my paintings for as long as 40 years. The catalogue number helps me to identify the work.
