Spring is Here!

Yes, it definately feels like spring has arrived in Ottawa. I painted the sketch for Spring Arrival  two weeks ago near the Village of Kars, ON. while we could still find small patches of snow in the forest.
Just finished the 30x30 canvas. I think that it has the feel of being out in the forest absorbing the new smells and hints of green breaking out, contrasting with last remnants of snow.
My wife and I visited the all - new, long-awaited Ottawa Art Gallery which opened its doors to the public last Saturday, April 28th. It is truly a gem with 4 floors of studio and gallery space, including the Firestone Collection. With easy access and free admission, the new gallery is sure to become a focal point for visitors to the downtown core of our city. It's an exciting time to be be part of the Ottawa scene.
I am pleased to have a number of my paintings accepted in the new Commercial Sales and Rental section of the vew OAG.
